Summer Satisfied

This rather large painting 36 x 24 (for a plein air) was done in two sessions with some tweaking in the studio. I wanted to keep the brushstrokes simple. That is a goal I am working toward. I think it's slightly overworked at this point. It's entered in "Echoes of Our Past" at Tunnel Hill. This is "the tree" there that I love to paint. A couple weeks ago there was a wedding under it's boughs. I wish I had been invited and would have painted it in such a wonderful eventful setting. I imagine this as the giving tree. I hope it lives for a long time into the future as it has in the past.

This is the scene as you look out the front windows of the Tunnel Heritage Center. It's such a lovely place to paint...
