1496 By the North Fork Boat Ramp Plein Air Alla Prima oil painting
I did this as the first painting of the Souvenirs of Downtown paintout, they let us paint where ever we wanted to. I went here to White City park, its nice and shady and cool. I have painted this scene before, its a place that is close to my heart, my dad and I would put our outboard motor boat in the water here and go boating in the St. Lucie river. We would always see turtles and usually alligators as well.
The painting is 12 x 16 inches, oil on masonite. $500.

1493 Herbs at Heathcote Plein Air Alla Prima
This
is in the herb garden at Heathcote Botanical gardens. I painted it a
couple of weeks ago and just now got around to posting, my non-painting
side of life has been getting in the way lately.
Last night's disaster was the hot water heater decided to start leaking. I am not sure how long it was leaking because the heater is in the garage. There was a half inch of water in most of the garage. I was up till midnight last night swabbing out water and most of today moving things around in there. I got sticky-sweaty and have a nice cold shower to look forward to tonight. Good news is they are supposed to instal a new one tomorrow. More good news is nothing that got wet mattered or at least what I have found did. I also got rid of a bunch of junk. More of that tomorrow too.
Back to the painting, it was one of those days where you start out with lots of layers and then start peeling them off. I think it would have been better to paint today and clean the garage that day. Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite, $300.
