I
did this Tuesday at the Fort Pierce Inlet State park and just got
around to posting it. This was right when the fog drifted through, the
opposite shore is faintly visible still. A minute or two later it
totally disappeared and then a few minutes later emerged again through
the mist.
Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite, $250.

1536 Misty Day at the Beach Plein Air Alla Prima
Very
lovely day today at the Inlet State Park. Not too hot or cold, just
right. About when I finished this painting, that hazy cloud in the
background passed over us for a few minutes, everything was foggy, it
was like being in a cloud. I don't get that experience very often
here. I loved the drive through the park, the sun was shining on many
dew bejeweled spiderwebs making them glow in the light.
The path leads to the ocean.

1535 Morning at the Inlet Plein Air Alla Prima
It
was a beautiful morning today at the Inlet State Park. I left out the
buildings on the opposite shore. It was a funny morning, started out
foggy and cold, I got to the park and it looked like this. Painted just
a little while and it all clouded over again. When I left it was
clearing up.
The painting is oil on masonite, 8 x 10 inches. $250.

1533 On the Sandspit Indian River Plein Air Alla Prima
I
painted this painting this morning, the last painting was looking
toward the south and this one is looking north. I left out the
buildings in the distance and the bridge and docks. The bird was there,
I think he is a tricolor heron. I was concerned we might get rained
out, the weather report wasn't too promising. It started out very clear
and just a few minutes later these clouds blew in, moving fast. All
was well though, it didn't rain till late afternoon.
I was on the same spit of land as the bird, I was wondering if the tide would be coming in but I got lucky again it was going out. There is some very shallow water to the left of the bird, that was gone when I packed up to go home.

1532 Cloudy Morning at the Indian River Plein Air Alla Prima
I
painted this last week, finally got around to posting it, its been
busy! It started out looking pretty gray out but the clouds started
blowing away as the morning went on. There was a little blue heron
there so I put him in, he was very tame, not afraid of us at all.
I painted it down by the river in front of the Old Fort Park. There is a house on the point of land in the distance but I left it out, this is the way it was down there when I was growing up. Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite. $200.
