Linda Blondheim Art Studio Landscapes Of The South

Blue Flowers
4x6 inches
gouache on acid free mat board

This is the first time I've used the mat board for gouache and I like it really well. My framer gives me tons of little scraps, so why not? The matboard holds the paint up, so it doesn't sink into the paper the way it does on watercolor. It gives the gouache a nice crisp edgework and clean color.

Would you believe we are in bloom up here in north Florida? There is wild plum, and redbud blooming as well as these crazy blue flowered weeds that grow everywhere up here. The odd thing is that it has been quite cold with light frost this week but the blooms are here.

Your smokin' with that gouache. Gouache is good and delivers the goods fast.

I am so jealous! What great colors! I am glad that the gouache is working for you for plein air studies.

Thank you all so much. The flowers are the ones which grow in fields all over here in North Florida. I'm not sure what they are called.

Love,
Linda
