From Ruck's Road, Dairy Cows, by Fawn
This is one of my earlier plein air paintings. I did three paintings of the dairy cows on this country road. It wasn't so bad while I did this one very early. But then the cows came up near me . . . It was smelly, had lots of flies, and I was dripping in sweat by 8:00 am! I tried to shoo them off, but they hung out next to the fence.
Needless to say, I learned to set up in the shade, and I have not gone near the dairy to paint again! LOL.
To purchase this one-of-a-kind original, go to MY GALLERY and click on this image, (available tomorrow) or email me.

Transitions by BJ Wright
This will be used as a study for a larger studio painting. The morning was unsettled and windy with patchy clouds skipping across the sky. It was as though Fall couldn't decide whether to encroach into Summer - or wait a few more weeks. There was a rustling of leaves signaling the transition of seasons. Patches of red foliage have begun peeking through the Summer green.
This scene is in the same meadow where I painted "Wisdom Oak" and "Just Saying Good Morning". I love this property located near my home in NW Georgia.

Rim Water, Sunrise Landscape, Plein Air Painting
This is an older painting that I did a few years ago, I have added the egrets and a few more highlights to it. My photography is better now too, much more true to the right colors, and contrast. Of course, each monitor varies some in color too. My camera tends to through off a blue cast, so I am learning how to adjust for that and get a better image.
I am glad I painted it when I did, because this old tree was taken out and now a huge house is in it's place. Sad face here.

Thanks for looking!

Inlet Park Too, Florida, Beach, Alla Prima by Fawn
This is the second one I did yesterday. I may add birds to it, but I kind of like it as is. A large osprey showed up and cuaght a very large fish in front of me. He could not get out of the water and struggled for sometime near the shore. Then he let the fish go and flew off.

Inlet Park, Plein Air Florida, Alla Prima, by Fawn McNeill
Had a great morning -- worked on location out at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park. There are two sides to the park, one is on the ocean, with great beaches, the other is at the inlet, where the Indian River comes into the ocean. I enjoyed painting with the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. Lori McNamara heads up our group.
I had fun with the colors and the interesting shapes in this little piece of the inlet. This inlet is where the inter-coastal waterway meets the ocean. It makes interesting currents in the water as the salt and fresh water mix.

Radnor Lake Sketches and Farm
Here are some sketches for my Radnor Lake park paintings. The Chestnut Group is have an exhibit of it's members work to benefit the park. A whole gang of Chestnutters was out last Thursday night painting the full moon over the lake. Brave souls. I was there making pencil and marker sketches in my sketchbook. I saw lots of fine works of the moonlit lake. These were done late afternoon. I will scan my night sketches next. The farm is on Nolensville Road and Kidd Road a mile or so before you get to Nolensville TN. Attn. Locals, go paint or draw it. Small working dairy farms are vanishing fast around here.
