Each afternoon it looked like rain clouds would roll in, but rain came only once briefly.

Thanks so much, Bernie! It had been a long time since I'd been to NC and I had forgotten how beautiful it is. Before we left for vacation, I checked the map to see how far you were from Nags Head...turned out to be about 3+ hours as I recall. I bumped into about a dozen plein air artists at the pier across from the vacation rental house. It was like seeing friends I hadn't met yet. We artists are like that, aren't we....
