8" x 10" oil on canvas covered hardboard painted en plein air, alla prima - $85 including shipping -
It seems like ages since I've been outside painting. This is the same scene - "Camp at Fort Keys" - that I painted in September at the Tunnel Hill battlefield. The foliage is changing so fast I'm glad I finally captured it on canvas. The shadows are appearing so blue and the leaves are so firey red, it's just an explosion of color.

Thanks Nancy. I appreciate that!
I love this section of land with its rolling meadows bounded by lots of trees and a little winding road. I've painted it in the Spring, the Summer and now the Fall.
It looks super BJ it looks great when you click it to make it big!
Thanks Lori. I see you're not the only one who clicks to 'blow em up'. I love to see brush strokes - and of course your knife work.
Very nice use of color BJ!
Thanks Jenna. I've read that when painting fall scenes, artists need to change their palette to accommodate the new colors. I haven't done that yet. Maybe that's why the colors seem so bright. But that's the way I saw it :o)
